Glanbia rises on upbeat numbers, outlook

Dairy foods and nutritional ingredients group, Glanbia ( [url=http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/chart.asp?]LSE: GLB[/url] ) rose 7.5% after stating that full year results for the year ended 29 December 2007 would come in at the upper end of market expectations at the earning per share level.

Growth with-in the group was driven by the food ingredients division and generally a strong market for dairy products. Glanbia said that its consumer foods division had a challenging year, and that its Agribusiness had a 'satisfactory performance'.

Looking forward, Managing Director John Moloney said the company was well positioned to deliver double digit growth in the future, and the outlook was positive.
