Limelight Networks partners with major UK broadcaster

Channel 4 has a high adoption rate of online viewers

Limelight Networks Inc (NASDAQ:LLNW) has partnered with UK television broadcaster Channel 4 to deliver programming via its on-demand web platform.

Channel 4, the publicly-owned and commercially-funded broadcaster will roll out Limelight’s award-winning Orchestrate Content Delivery platform across its All 4 online service to enable viewers to watch video content across devices.

Limelight said it is able to scale to meet unexpectedly high viewing demands and provide reliable performance consistently.

“Channel 4 is known as an innovative trailblazer at the forefront of delivering our programs to our viewers across the UK who prefer to watch on any device at any time," said Channel 4 New Media Operations Manager Declan Toman.

"Limelight is a key part of making this happen flawlessly and has always proactively evaluated our configuration and suggested ways for performance improvement," said Toman.

“We take pride in making sure Channel 4 can give their audience a consistent broadcast quality experience, regardless of the demand and the sometimes unexpected traffic spikes,” added Limelight vice president Jonathan Smith.

Details of the deal were not disclosed.
