Malagasy Minerals (ASX: MGY) has identified at least 12 major lenses of high-grade graphite mineralisation from traverse surface sampling at its Maniry Project in Southern Madagascar.
These lenses have widths ranging from 75 metres to 250 metres and average grades from 5% graphitic carbon to 12.13% graphitic carbon.
The company will now carry out mineralogical evaluation to determine flake size and high level quality characteristics and determine potential upgrade purity levels.
This will be followed by a program of additional traverse sampling and trench-costean sampling in the 2014 field season.
This work can be completed at a modest cost and will provide enough information to determine the full potential of the Maniry Project and to gain an understanding as to whether these deposits have the same quality as at Molo.
