Environmental Clean Technologies to focus coal beneficiation process in India

au_india_map350_52c60269b9a8a.jpg

Environmental Clean Technologies (ASX:ESI) plans to focus demonstration efforts of its Coldry technology in India, after a grant was not approved under the Australian Advanced Lignite Demonstration Program (ALDP).

When applied to lignite and some sub-bituminous coals, the Coldry beneficiation process produces a black coal equivalent in the form of pellets. Coldry pellets have equal or superior energy value to many black coals and produce lower CO2 emissions than raw lignite.

Whilst ESI's technology was viewed as viable, funding was not granted based on the requirement for additional rail and port infrastructure investments.

Environmental intends to develop projects in Australia and globally following successful demonstration in India.

The Coldry technology has applications for thermal coal export, and predrying solutions for upgrading high moisture coals to electrical energy and fuels.
