CSE issuers completed 108 financings and raised over $160mln, the group said

The Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) said it was very happy with its first quarter, which saw "exceptional" year-on-year growth in share turnover, value traded and total value of financings completed.

CSE issuers completed 108 financings and raised over $160mln, an increase of almost 300% against the first quarter of 2016.

The volume traded in CSE listed securities tripled compared to the first quarter of 2016 to 3.03bn shares, while the value of CSE listed firms traded during the quarter reached C$940mln - an eight fold increase from the previous year.

“We are very happy with results from the first quarter of 2017, as our issuers enjoyed a more welcoming financing environment and the increase in trading liquidity meant better pricing and risk management opportunities for investors,” said Richard Carleton, the chief executive.
