Noram Ventures Inc (CVE:NRM) and partner Alba Minerals are set to expand drilling at the Clayton Valley lithium project in Nevada.

They have applied to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for an expansion of the initial prospecting permit.

"We are pleased to be expanding our drilling program after the encouraging results from our recently published NI 43-101," said Mark Ireton, chief executive and president.

"We are progressing well and particularly pleased with results given the small five-acre footprint explored out of a total of 12,920 contiguous acres. The expanded exploration core drilling program will begin in the first quarter of 2018 once we receive BLM permits."

Noram said 20 holes were planned in three areas to extend the 46-hole phase 1 drilling program completed earlier this year.

Four holes in area 1 adjacent to the borehole on the Hades claims and four holes in area 2 on the Zeus extension claims.

Areas 1 and 2 each received one  hole during the first round with assays, encouragingly, up to 1,290 parts per million (ppm) lithium.

The other 12 holes will be sunk in area 3 and are designed to infill and expand upon the close-spaced drilling that formed the basis of the maiden inferred resource estimate previously announced on the Zeus claim block.

The project includes the “smoking gun” deposit Zackly which contains an inferred resource of 41,200 tonnes of copper, 213,000 ounces of gold and 1.5 million ounces of silver, with mineralisation continuing 100 metres below the bounty.
