BigDishPLC (LON:DISH) has released an app that will allow restaurants to modify any deal on any given day in real time.

The app, available on both the Android and Apple operating systems, will also allow restaurants to receive notifications of incoming bookings and will enable them to alter the capacity and pricing of its deal periods.

BigDish currently enables UK restaurants to meet capacity in the 'last minute' market and consumers can make bookings up to 48 hours in advance only.

"The launch of the Merchant App for restaurants will be a key component of the BigDish platform as it will allow restaurants to modify their deals at any given time. We plan to continue to develop the app and add more sophistication and features progressively with a view to creating a market leading proposition for restaurants and consumers alike,” said Joost Boer, the chief executive officer of BigDish.

"This is an exciting time for the company, following on from the beta launch in Bath on 17th September, and I look forward to updating our shareholders on our progress," he added.

The company also announced the appointment of hospitality industry veteran Sanj Naha to assist in developing BigDish’s UK strategy. Naha was previously head of business-to-business marketing and sales enablement at The Fork, the restaurant booking platform that was acquired by Tripadvisor.
