Valens GroWorks Corp (CSE:VGW) (OTCQB: MYMSF) announced Everett Knight, a cannabis portfolio manager, joined its executive team, filling the role of executive vice president of strategy and investments.
Shares of the cannabis company were up more than 2% to US$1.19 by Thursday’s closing bell and had not yet begun trading in Toronto Friday morning.
Knight’s investment experience in the cannabis space dates back to 2014.
He has since evaluated hundreds of cannabis companies, according to the company, and has built up a knowledge base of the ins and outs of the budding industry.
"Everett is one of the leading Cannabis Portfolio Managers and has an exceptional investment track record with an in-depth knowledge of the cannabis industry," said Valens CEO Tyler Robson in the company’s press release.
"At Valens we strive to be the best in class premium extraction company globally and the addition of Everett will augment our top performing team,” he added.
The British Columbia-based company specializes in the extraction and purification of cannabinoids.
