IAG says British Airways’ finance boss to take over as group's chief financial officer in June

International Airlines Group PLC (LON:IAG) has revealed that Steve Gunning, currently chief financial officer at its British Airways (BA) unit will replace Enrique Dupuy de Lôme as the group’s chief financial officer when Dupuy steps down following the firm’s Annual General Meeting in June.

Gunning has been BA’s CFO since January 2016 and acting director of IAG Global Business Services since December 2017; before that he was chief executive of IAG Cargo from 2011.

Dupuy has been IAG CFO since the FTSE 100-listed group was founded in January 2011 following the merger of UK flag carrier BA with Spanish peer Iberia, having previously been CFO of Iberia from 1990.

Willie Walsh, IAG’s chief executive said: "Enrique has done a fantastic job at IAG. He played a critical role in establishing the Group and was a major force in delivering our strong financial performance. It's been a pleasure to work with him and I'd like to thank him for all his hard work in putting IAG on the map.”

Walsh added: "I'd like to welcome Steve to his new role. His appointment serves as evidence of the strength and depth of the IAG leadership team."

In late morning trading, IAG shares were 0.3% higher at 544.20p.
