WeedMD Inc (CVE:WMD) (OTCQX:WDDMF), the medical-grade cannabis producer, is jumping into the recreational market with the launch of an adult-use brand.
Color Cannabis will roll out online and in stores across Canada this month. The brand will offer up to 10 marijuana strains in vibrant packaging, including several of its own unique varieties like Pedro’s Sweet Sativa, Ghost Train Haze and ACDC
The brand will debut a line of dried cannabis flower in mid-June, with oil and capsules to follow in the coming months.
“The goal of Color Cannabis is to capture the imagination, individuality and progressive nature of cannabis users,” CEO Keith Merker said. “We don’t want to tell our customers how they are going to feel; we want them to experience Color for themselves.”
With total production capacity of 5.2 million square feet and 150,000 kilograms a year in 2020, the company expects to have ample room to support both its adult-use and medical cannabis ambitions.
Its shares slipped 0.6% to C$1.65 on the TSX-Venture and 0.8% to US$1.22 on OTC markets.
