CROP Infrastructure's first California extracts pass pesticide, heavy metal testing

CEO Michael Yorke says this is a ‘solid step forward’ towards rolling out the company’s cartridge, flower and pre-rolled lines in the California market

CROP Infrastructure Corp (CSE:CROP) (OTCMKTS:CRXPF) said Wednesday that its first batch of THC distillate vape cartridges derived from the 2018 harvest passed heavy metal and pesticide testing.

This is consistent with the “excellent” initial test results recorded after the 2018 harvest, the Vancouver-based company said in a statement.

The packaging team is now filling cartridges to gear up for the launch of Evolution Cannabis and Hempire brands in California, it added.

“This is a solid step forward towards rolling out our cartridge, flower and pre-rolled lines into the California market, further benefiting the recent, partial acquisition of Flip Distro with its experienced sales staff,” said CROP CEO Michael Yorke.

Earlier in July, Crop Infrastructure’s cannabis subsidiary Hempire upped its stake in distribution company Flip Disto. The brand shelled out $100,000 for a 51% majority stake in Flip Distro, which it plans to use as a secondary fulfillment center for delivery logistics in California.

CROP also said the first two greenhouses at the Humboldt organic farm have been harvested and are in store for “trimming, testing and packaging.”

Premium distillate line and organic fresh flower

This will allow the company to launch its premium distillate line and organic fresh flower in the California market, helped by the inhouse sales team and Flip Distro.

The company is also investigating retail locations in Cathedral City, California to use for its flagship Emerald Heights brand store.

“CROP will be able to connect the Emerald Heights Southern California retail provisional licence with Flip Distro’s Northern California distribution license to create a secondary drop point for delivery drivers,” said Yorke.

CROP’s portfolio includes cultivation properties in California, two in Washington State, a 1,000-acre Nevada cannabis farm, 2,115 acres of hemp CBD farms and equity in upcoming cannabis sector listings.

Its assets also include Canna Drink, a cannabis-infused beverage line.
