Golden Saint chairman: Diamond could be worth up to US$100,000

Cyril D’Silva, the executive chairman of Golden Saint Resources (LON:GSR), says the 9.475 carat diamond recovered at its Tongo licence in Sierra Leone could be worth between US$70,000 and US$100,000 following the start of bulk sampling there.

D’Silva says that when it is cut and polished, the losses to the diamond will be ‘very minimal’. 

‘Having been able to hit the sweet spot [so early] that’s quite amazing,’ says the group’s chairman, who also discusses the gold found at the licence despite ‘not looking for it’.
