Ben Crawford, chief executive of CentralNic (LON:CNIC), says the fast-growing emerging markets are where the growth is going to come from for the top-level domain group.
‘China is the biggest market for domain names in the world now in terms of growth,’ he explains. ‘But there’s a billion more people in India, another billion in Africa, there’s the whole of Latin America as well, who because of smartphones are starting to use the internet and therefore businesses are starting to build websites to reach them and those are our customers of the future.’
The group announced its full-year results for 2014 today in which it revealed revenues nearly doubled to £6.07mln, with a slight fall in profits to £520,000 due to increased investment.
