Metminco chief talks potentially "multimillion ounce" new project

William Howe, chief executive of Metminco Ltd PLC (LON:MNC ASX:MNC), says the company has been “looking for an acquisition in the South American sphere for some time.”

The copper explorer has moved into the Colombian gold space with the acquisition of the Quinchia project, which covers 6,043 hectares (Ha) of granted concessions and an additional 3,792Ha of pending applications, and contains a number of deposits and exploration targets including Miraflores, Dosquebradas and Tesorito.

The big story is the Tesorito system, he says, adding that he is “quite taken by the opportunity to expand on the information that exists on the Tesorito deposit and we believe it is potentially a multimillion ounce project.”
