Real Energy Corporation (ASX:RLE) has encountered further elevated gas shows and various gas peaks over the remaining Patchawarra Formation section of its Tamarama-1 exploration wells in the Cooper Basin, Queensland.

This follows its encountering a thicker than predicted Permian Toolachee and Patchawarra formations section earlier this week.

Current operations were running wireline logging with results to be released once interpretation is completed.

ATP 927P is strategically located and is surrounded by proven and producing gas and oil fields operated by Santos (ASX:STO), with gas production being used to feed growing demand for east coast gas.

In total Real Energy controls over 8,314 square kilometres (2 million acres) of acreage in the Cooper Basin, which is a premier location for unconventional exploration and production in Australia.
