DQ Entertainment Reinforces Its Relationship with Nickelodeon, to Produce 2nd Series of ‘Penguins of Madagascar’

Indian based Animator DQ Entertainment (AIM: DQE) has announced the commissioning of a second series of the ‘Penguins of Madagascar’ series for Nickelodeon animation studios. DQE were awarded the contract to produce the CGI animated series following the quality and delivery of the first series. Investors are expected to react positively to the news which further underpins DQ’s standing among its industry partners.


This latest development further cements the strong relationship between DQ Entertainment and the Major TV network, Viacom’s Nickelodeon is the most watched children’s television network in America. DQ Entertainment has produced several significant animation shows for Nickelodeon, including ‘Casper the Friendly Ghost’, ‘TAK’ and the ‘Fan Boy’ series which is currently in development.


The high profile ‘Penguins of Madagascar' series is a spin-off of successful Dreamworks ‘Madagascar’ movie franchise.   DQE will began production of this multimillion dollar project shortly and are scheduling the completion of the CGI animated series in early 2011.


In this morning’s statement, DQ Entertainment CEO Tapaas Chakravarti highlighted the strength of DQ’s developing relationship with Nickelodeon Animation studies, Mr Chakravarti commented;


“We have developed an extremely productive working relationship, which is delivering a seamless production pipeline between the teams at Burbank and Hyderabad. An unprecedented result for such a Hi-end project”


This contract award from Nickelodeon, adds to DQE’s growing portfolio of productions for major international TV networks and Production companies including, Disney Animation Studios, The Cartoon Network and Marvel Entertainment Inc.


Shares in the AIM Listed Animator have gained almost 1% on relatively light volume this morning and are currently priced around £1.09 per share.
