Block Scientific, a client of NexTech’s, resells medical lab equipment for manufacturers. In April, the companies signed an e-commerce deal that saw NexTech “ARitize” some of Block Scientific’s products, letting customers view them in 3D and even place them in their own space to get a sense of size and fit.
"Manufacturers and distributors within the medical technology space are perfectly positioned to capitalize on the benefits of AR for product training, sales and marketing," NexTech CEO Evan Gappelberg said. "It just makes total sense for us to work with medical equipment manufacturers."
With AR, manufacturers can create 3D virtual replicas of their medical equipment, allowing them to train and demo remotely.
NexTech shares slumped 13% Tuesday morning to C$0.72 on the CSE and 16% to US$0.54 on OTC Markets.
