Acacia Mining allowed to export from North Mara again

The Tanzanian authorities ordered a halt to production while they undertook an investigation into mine at the end of July.

Acacia Mining -

Acacia Mining PLC (LON:ACA) has been granted permission to resume exports from the North Mara gold mine in Tanzania.

The Tanzanian authorities ordered a halt while they undertook an investigation into the mine at the end of July.

Acacia noted that the letter also stated that the country’s Mining Commission wants a feasibility study report and current mine plan for North Mara to be submitted for its approval by 16 August 2019.

North Mara is one of Acacia’s three producing gold mines in Tanzania and has been a focal point of the ongoing dispute between the company and government over claims of unpaid taxes.

Barrick Mining, Acacia’s parent, recently agreed to buy out the outstanding minority shares in an attempt to solve the dispute.
