Venus Metals Corporation Ltd (ASX:VMC) has extended tenure at its flagship Youanmi project in Western Australia which hosts gold, iron, vanadium and titanium resources along with base metals, cobalt and lithium.
Housed in WA exploration licence application 57/1129, the 38 blocks connect the West Australian company’s western tenure near Penny West gold mine to an eastern section to create a contiguous landholding.
Perth-based Venus reported today that once it received a licence to explore ELA 57/1129, it would start straight away on exploration activities at the land blocks.
Youanmi was previously been sized at 650 square kilometres, in a land package that took five years to assemble.
RC drilling at Youanmi
The Murchison region project is 480 kilometres northeast of WA’s capital city Perth, on the Youanmi greenstone belt.
Youanmi belt is prospective for Archean gold mineralisation.
Venus and its joint venture partner Rox Resources Ltd (ASX:RXL) restarted reverse circulation (RC) drilling at their Youanmi Gold Project this month.
At Currans North prospect, RC drilling is following up on new bonanza gold grades with possible similarities to Spectrum Metals Ltd’s (ASX:SPX) Penny North discovery.
