NexTech AR Solutions (OTCMKTS:NEXCF) (CSE:NTAR) announced a deal Tuesday with LAPoliceGear.com (LAPG), a military and tactical gear seller, to add augmented reality to its online shopping experience.
The company will provide its AR e-commerce offering for a slate of nine initial products, which customers will be able to view in full 3D and even project into their own space before buying.
“The largest barrier that online retailers run into is the customer not being able to touch and feel the product,” LAPG CEO Mark Hedman said in a statement. “With NexTech AR’s technology integrated on our website, they will now be able to see if something is the right size, has the right features and will work for their load out, which is great.”
LAPG was founded by police officers in 2001 and sells a variety of police, military, camping and other tactical clothing and gear.
For NexTech, the deal brings its AR platform into another corner of the e-commerce marketplace. Other companies implementing the technology include Budweiser, the gun seller Walther Arms and grill producer Mr. Steak.
Shares of the AR company climbed 3% Tuesday to C$0.68 on the CSE and nearly 5% to US$0.52 on OTC Markets.
