Tempus Resources Ltd (ASX:TMR) has appointed legal and technical consultants to assist with due diligence on the acquisition of the Blackdome-Elizabeth Gold Project (BEGP), a high-grade, past-producing project in British Columbia, Canada.

Gowling WLG will assist with the legal aspects while SRK Consulting has been engaged for the technical aspects.

In August the company entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Sona Resources Corp which holds the BEGP gold mine, mill and tailings storage facility.

The project hosts NI43-101-compliant indicated mineral resources of 52,600 ounces of gold at 11.3g/t and inferred resources of 231,900 ounces at 11.7g/t.

Visit to site

Tempus' managing director Brendan Borg and exploration manager Kevin Piepgrass recently completed a detailed site visit and series of meetings in Canada as part of the due diligence assessment and to introduce the company to a variety of stakeholders.

Borg said: “I was very impressed with the accessibility of the project area and the condition of the mine infrastructure at Blackdome, which includes the permitted mill and tailings facility.

“These features will support the fast-track program we are planning.”

The company has also begun a soil sampling program across the Blackdome and Elizabeth project areas targeting:

  • Extensions to known mineralised veins;
  • Structural targets prospective for the discovery of additional gold mineralised veins; and
  • Resampling of historical gold soil anomalies that were not drill tested.

Approval for a multi-year program at Blackdome, including drilling of known mineralised veins, is pending with the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.

At Elizabeth, a drilling program is being designed to extend and infill the current historical mineral resources, to conduct additional drilling on known mineralised veins and to explore for new mineralised gold veins.
