NexTech AR Solutions Corp (CSE:NTAR) (OTCMKTS:NEXCF) unveiled a major upgrade to its BetterRealityAR augmented reality tool, which will help its customers enhance the visual quality of their 3D creations.
BetterRealityAR is a component of the company’s “ARitize” platform, which turns 2D image assets into 3D AR interactive objects that e-commerce customers can view with a standard web browser.
Maintaining the same caliber of photo-realism when transforming an image into an AR asset has always been a challenge, CEO Evan Gappelberg said, and BetterRealityAR provides a strong enhancement.
Shares of NexTech climbed 9.5% higher Tuesday to C$1.73 on the CSE and 10% to US$1.31 on OTC Markets.
“The idea of photo realistic AR images is what everyone in e-commerce wants to achieve, however to date it has been difficult and expensive to attain,” Gappelberg said in a statement. “NexTech’s state-of-the-art AR rendering engine and new toolset can adjust and customize the look and feel of 3D/AR product visualizations in real time, changing the game for AR e-commerce."
The upgrade is the latest in a series of moves meant to level up and streamline the AR production process. Two weeks ago, NexTech launched Capture AR, an innovation that allows users to create AR assets using 4K video on cell phone cameras with no training required.
“This upgrade in combination with our recently announced CaptureAR, NexTech’s lightning-fast AR creation tool which uses a cell phone camera to create 3D AR, signals that the power to create, edit and enhance photorealistic 3D AR objects has arrived for the mass market,” Gappelberg said.
