Capstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ:CPST), the maker of clean-energy microturbines, strengthened its board of directors with the appointment of former NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG) executive Denise Wilson.
Wilson served as executive vice president and president of new business at NRG, a Princeton-based Fortune 500 company with generation, energy retail business and cleantech ventures.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Denise to our Board of Directors at this crucial inflection point of Capstone’s path towards near-term positive adjusted EBITDA and sustained profitability,” CEO Darren Jamison said in a statement. “Denise is a widely respected executive with valuable clean technology industry experience, and we look forward to her valuable know-how and professional perspective as we execute against our stated strategic profitability objectives.”
Wilson also worked as EVP of human resources at the food distributor Nash-Finch Company, and prior to her time at NRG, she held various positions at Metris Companies Inc and was the director of human resources at General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) subsidiary General Electric IT Solutions.
“My career has allowed me to participate in supporting the development and adoption of a wide variety of alternative low emission generation technologies,” Wilson said. “Capstone's innovative technology and strong leadership team make this a very exciting board opportunity."
