Phunware Inc (NASDAQ:PHUN) has released an expansion to the sample code of its Location Based Services module, allowing for the implementation of new features using the company’s Location and Mapping Software Development Kits.
The new sample code features include walk time calculations, which estimates the approximate walking time of a route and generates an estimated arrival time; voice prompts, which configures app to voice commands through a smartphone speaker or headphones; and off-route alerts, which prompt users when they go off course and prompt them to get back on track.

“We’re excited to announce the release of the enhanced sample code which will now make our Location Based Services module easier to implement, richer with commonly requested features and optimized for efficiency in reading and using the sample code provided with the product,” EVP of Product and Engineering Matthew Lindenberger, said in a statement. “Releasing these enhancements to the sample code allows for developers to easily bring new technology into their mobile applications and create rich location-based user experiences.”
Phunware’s Software Development Kits include location-based services, mobile engagement, content management, messaging, advertising, loyalty and rewards (PhunCoin), and analytics, as well as a mobile application framework of pre-integrated iOS and Android software modules for building in-house or channel-based mobile application and vertical solutions.
