Exro Technologies Inc (CSE:XRO) (OTCMKTS:EXROF) is opening an innovation centre in western Canada to showcase its electric motor technology.
The 6,500-square-foot Exro Innovation Centre in Calgary, Alberta will also increase Exro’s laboratory space and expand its service capabilities, the firm said Wednesday.
CEO Sue Ozdemir said that the new centre is an “important step” as the company adapts its technology for further commercialization.

"The world needs to make optimum use of our energy, and we are delighted to open this innovation center in Canada's energy hub to share how Exro dramatically improves the performance of electric motors,” Ozdemir said in a statement.
Exro’s patented technology uses artificial intelligence to sense and adapt to variable inputs and matches it to desired outputs to improve the performance of things like electric engines and power systems.
The innovation centre will also host collaborative events for international participants and guests to explore advances in energy consumption and electric motor innovations.
The facility is currently undergoing a retrofit ahead of an anticipated spring 2020 opening.
