Pressure BioSciences shares rocket on CBD-oil processing systems purchase order from Las Vegas cannabis CEO

The firm's BaroShear K45 systems work by processing CBD oil so it can be dissolved in water, thus making it easier to absorb

Pressure BioSciences Inc (OTCMKTS:PBIO) announced a purchase order for six of its CBD oil-processing Ultra Shear Technology nanoemulsification systems.

Jason Ellis, president of Vegas CBD Factory, placed the order for six BaroShear K45 systems.

The technology works by taking extracted CBD oil — notoriously difficult for the water-based human body to absorb — and processes it so that it’s dissolvable in water. That significantly increases the amount of CBD that enters circulation, a metric known as bioavailability.

Investors jumped at the news, nearly doubling Pressure Biosciences' stock price to $2.60.

"As consumers rush to try, use and adopt CBD-infused products, it is important to realize that the CBD in the product should be in a high-quality, water-soluble and reliably dosed form,” Ellis said in a statement. “At Vegas CBD Factory, we have spent a significant amount of time searching for the best method available to make high-quality nanoemulsions of CBD oil.

“We have concluded that PBI's proprietary UST-based platform is the best technology available for achieving optimized dosing and have concluded that to give our customers the best CBD-based product, we should be processing our material using the BaroShear K45 nanoemulsification platform,” he added.

CEO Richard Schumacher said purchase orders like this are emblematic of what is already shaping up to be a productive year.

"In addition to the new order for six BaroShear K45 systems, there are numerous additional groups who have shown high levels of interest in acquiring the new BaroShear K45 nanoemulsification system,” Schumacher said. “Our team is diligently following up with these interested parties; we believe that several of these groups will be placing purchase orders with us in the very near future. These are very exciting times for all PBI stakeholders."

Pressure Biosciences, based in South Easton, Massachusetts, is developing a suite of pressure-based solutions for the worldwide life sciences and other industries. It’s Pressure Cycling Technology (PCT) platform uses alternating cycles of hydrostatic pressure to control bio-molecular interactions like the extraction of biomolecules.
