Ideanomics Inc (NASDAQ:IDEX), the greentech and Fintech advisory group, will launch two new businesses to capitalize on China's US$3.4 trillion (RMB24 trillion) investment in so-called new infrastructure. The two new entities will be MEG New Energy Vehicles and MEG 5G Energy Services.They will be subgroups of the group's electric vehicle subsidiary - Mobile Energy Global's (MEG) new energy sales division - and each will have a core group of strategic partners. New infrastructure includes the likes of 5G, electric vehicle charging points, big data centers and artificial intelligence (AI).

First Majestic Silver Corp (NYSE:AG) has acquired 17,097,500 common shares of GR Silver Mining Ltd (CVE:GRSL) as partial consideration for the purchase by GR Silver for 100% of shares of First Majestic's wholly owned subsidiary, Minera La Rastra SA de CV, which owns the Plomosas project in Sinaloa, Mexico. Following completion of the acquisition, the company held 17,097,500 shares, representing 19.9% of the issued and outstanding shares on a non-diluted basis.

Naturally Splendid Enterprises Ltd (CVE.NSP), the hemp food and ingredients company, is “committed to playing our role” to help maintain the food supply chain during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The company’s pledge Friday comes a day after the British Columbia provincial government announced several initiatives in the on-going battle to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic -- including a crucial move by Mike Farnworth, minister of public safety and solicitor general, to declare the food supply chain an essential service. 

EnWave Corporation (CVE:ENW) (OTCMKTS:NWVCF) announced on Friday that it has received nine patent approvals from a variety of international patent offices. The company currently holds fifteen families of patents related to its Radiant Energy Vacuum (REV) dehydration technology that have been approved in multiple international jurisdictions.

Fidelity Minerals Corp (CVE:FMN) has completed a short field program at its Las Brujas project in Peru, it told shareholders on Friday. The project generator’s Las Brujas property is a highly prospective gold project located within the Yanacocha External Caldera region of the country. The program was designed to assess local site and access conditions and look at prospective alteration profiles that were exposed thanks to nearby road development.

WeedMD Inc (CVE:WMD) (OTCMKTS:WDDMF), the cannabis producer and distributor, has responded to arguments from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW Canada) and rejected them. On March 17 this year, it was reported that the union had notified the Ontario cannabis producer that it should sit down and bargain a contract for members. In a statement today, WeedMD said UFCW Canada was "well aware" that the cannabis industry has been properly characterized as agricultural, and is subject to specific labour legislation in the form of the Agricultural Employees Protection Act, 2002.

CytoDyn Inc (OTCMKTS:CYDY) shared positive test results on Friday from seven coronavirus (COVID-19) patients who were treated with the company’s drug leronlimab at a leading medical center in the New York City area. The company said the diagnostics company IncellDx’s evaluation of test results from the first four patients show “immunological benefits within three days” following treatment with leronlimab on all four patients, and “lower level of cytokine storm, especially IL-6 and TNF-α, which were reduced significantly.” Meanwhile, in a separate statement, CytoDyn said it has filed another round of modifications to its IND and protocol for a Phase 2 clinical trial with leronlimab. The FDA suggested the company file a second randomized protocol for “all COVID-19 patients in severe condition,” so as to preclude each physician from filing an emergency IND for every patient to be treated with leronlimab.

Pure Gold Mining Inc (CVE:PGM) (LON:PUR) told investors that first gold at its fully funded Red Lake mine in Ontario was only 'months away' as it updated on measures it was taking amid the global coronavirus pandemic and also posted full-year results. The Madsen mine is set to be Canada's next large scale producer and is on track to be completed later this year. The firm says it has adequate funding to complete construction and start producing the yellow metal.

Humanigen Inc (OTCMKTS:HGEN) has moved a step closer in its plans to start a Phase III clinical trial for its lenzilumab antibidy to help coronavirus patients, namely submitting an initial protocol synopsis to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As reported last week, the biotech's monoclonal antibody lenzilumab is aimed at treating so-called cytokine storm, which can lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) associated with the current pandemic.

AgraFlora Organics International Inc (CSE:AGRA) (OTCMKTS:AGFAF) said it's subsidiary Sustainable Growth Strategic Capital Corp has received approval from Health Canada to begin extraction at its Greater Toronto Area facility, under an amendment to its standard processing license. SGSC has been working with partner farmers in the Canadian CBD business to optimize its harvest and maximize the subsequent CBD extraction. In March, the company conducted a trial extraction of hemp-biomass, which will be extracted by third-party services and sold as CBD crude oil, distillate and isolate.

Capstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ:CPST) has announced a partnership with the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Brenmiller Energy on a thermal energy project for Purchase college, a State University of New York (SUNY) institution. The project won a $1 million grant from the Israel-United States Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation to examine low-emission thermal energy storage as a way to increase the efficiency of standard combined heat and power (CHP) systems.

Thunderbird Entertainment Group Inc (CVE:TBRD) (OCMKTS:THBRF) said Friday that 95% of its staff is working from home in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic The remaining team members of its more than 1,000-strong workforce will be fully set up to work from home by March 30, the company said in a statement. "Thunderbird's number one priority remains the health and safety of all," said CEO Jennifer Twiner McCarron in a statement.

NexTech AR Solutions Corp (OTCMKTS:NEXCF) (CSE:NTAR) said Friday that it has completed a 2019 year-end audit which saw over $6 million in revenue and $3.2 million in profit for the 12-month period, helped immeasurably by a series of technological breakthroughs. The company’s financial year has been changed from end-May to end December. For the seven-month audited period from end-May to end-December, Nextech reported $4 million in revenue with gross profit of $2.3 million.

Otso Gold Corp (CVE:OTSO) (OTCMKTS:FIEIF) announced Friday it has closed over C$3.7 million worth of convertible debentures to progress the company’s Otso mine through to anticipated production in 2020. The Vancouver-based firm’s Otso mine near the town of Raahe in Finland is fully built, permitted, and has infrastructure in place in preparation for production to begin. The debentures include a US$1.5 million investment from PFL Raahe Holdings LP supported by an agreement by Lionsbridge Capital Pty Ltd, which manages Otso, to purchase the debentures from Pandion under certain conditions.

Phunware Inc (NASDAQ:PHUN) has launched a National Ventilator Registry as the coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic spreads in the US.   The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security estimates that there are about 160,000 ventilators available for patient care, but the American Hospital Association estimates 960,000 people may need them over the course of the pandemic. While manufacturers race to ramp up production of the critical machines, hospitals and patients need access to real-time utilization data of the existing ventilators in operation, Phunware said.

Cardiol Therapeutics Inc (TSE:CRDL) (OTCMKTS:CRTPF) CEO David Elsley told shareholders that the company is expecting significant growth in 2020 as it moves to launch its pharmaceutical cannabidiol formulation in Canada. The Oakville, Ontario-based firm develops innovative cannabidiol medicines for heart disease. Elsley called 2019 a “pivotal year” for the healthcare company as it put the pieces in place to commercialize its THC-free cannabidiol therapeutic.
