Vyke Communications turnover up 86% in six months to 30th June 2007

Vyke Communications (AIM:VYKE), the mobile phone voice over internet protocol ('VOIP') telecoms company, which has been one of the better performers on AIM this year, posted interim results for the six months ended 30th June 2007. Highlights included turnover up 86% to £8.274 million (H1 2006: £4.458 million), gross profit margins improved to 12.2% (H1 2006: 7.1%), and EBITDA losses reduced to £1.04 million ( Loss H1 2006: £1.324 million). Equally material, Vyke said that it had 695,000 paid customer accounts for the quarter ending 30th June 2007, and increase of 129% on the fourth quarter of 2006. For the current quarter the company had just over 1 million customer accounts.

"The Board believes that the potential for mobile VoIP products is significant and, with the proof of the concept now clear, and additional financing in place, the Group is well placed to continue converting its competitive and first mover advantage in the market into further growth. The Board is very pleased by the confidence that the investor marketplace has exhibited in the Group, as evidenced by the level of Institutional investment in the Company." commented Tommy Jensen, Chairman of Vyke. "In addition to the strong organic growth the Board is actively considering strategic acquisitions which would have the ability to support the Group's infrastructure, increase quality of service and help the Company expand its geographical presence in the key regions of the US, SE Asia and Africa."
