ImagineAR Inc (CSE:IP) (OTCQB:IPNFF), an augmented reality (AR) company that enables sports teams and other businesses to create their own AR mobile campaigns, has signed a five-year agreement with the NFL Alumni Academy, the company announced Thursday.

The deal will see ImagineAR provide its platform to help launch new mobile interactive products for the academy. This agreement provides for equal program revenue sharing over the five-year term, the company said.

The academy, run by the NFL Alumni Association, provides an in-season training program for NFL free agents not currently signed with a team. The training, conducted on the campus of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio, is designed to keep them prepared to quickly step back into the league when called upon. More than 500 players on active rosters suffer injuries and need to be replaced every year.

The NFL Alumni Academy is managed, operated and marketed by WaV Sports & Entertainment, which will implement the ImagineAR platform, the company said. The idea is to use augmented reality as a tool to help train and motivate players, as well as entertain fans.

“ImagineAR is providing the industry-leading mobile augmented reality mobile platform to the NFL Alumni Academy to engage and activate players, coaches and sponsors to connect with football fans around the globe,” NFL Alumni Association International Director of Special Events, and former Minnesota Vikings assistant coach Dean Dalton said. “ImagineAR is an elite technology that we look to utilize in a variety of ways to connect football fans from around the globe to their favorite professional athletes, coaches and celebrities. We are excited about this long term relationship with ImagineAR and the endless possibilities working together.”

The NFL Alumni Association, founded in 1967, is made up of former players, coaches, executives, spouses, cheerleaders, and associate members. Its members are offered a package of wellness, business, career and legal services to help members and their families be healthy, productive and connected to one another, the group said.

“We are honored to be selected as the augmented reality platform solution for the NFL Alumni Academy for five years,” ImagineAR CEO Paul Silverrstieen said: “It is personally rewarding to develop AR programs to help players who have dedicated their entire lives to the sport and made every Sunday memorable for football fans.“

ImagineAR’s "AR-as-a-Service" platform enables businesses of any size to create and implement their own AR campaigns with no programming or technology experience. Users can point their mobile device at logos, signs, buildings, products, landmarks and more to instantly engage with videos, information, advertisements, coupons, 3D holograms and any interactive content.
