The results have “excellent potential” to positively impact the open pit model economics at Lawyers

Benchmark Metals Inc (CVE:BNCH) (OTCQX:BNCHF) announced Tuesday that it has intercepted the deepest-ever gold-silver mineralization on the Cliff Creek deposit at its Lawyers project in British Columbia.

The drill hole intersected significant mineralization at 425 metres below surface, extending the depth of the deposit by around 50 metres below the base of the open pit model to a depth of around 500 metres.

Intersections include 4.3 metres at 22.6 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 1,036 g/t silver or 35.5 g/t gold equivalent, and 15 metres of 7 g/t gold and 307.9 g/t silver for 10.9 g/t gold equivalent.

The results have “excellent potential” to positively impact the open pit model economics, according to Edmonton-based Benchmark. Additional assay results from a selection of holes that extend up to 100 metres beneath the existing drill hole, showing similar alteration and visible gold-silver mineralization, are pending.

The drill program is expanding gold and silver to new depths, according to Benchmark CEO John Williamson.

“The Cliff Creek North area is providing continuous, impressive grades from surface with high-grade material at depth,” Williamson said in a statement. “The excellent results from the first of these deep holes confirm our geological model and indicate that this robust mineralizing system remains strong and open at depth.”

Benchmark’s flagship property, the Lawyers gold-silver project is in the Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia.
