Naturally Splendid Enterprises Ltd (CVE:NSP) (OTCQB:NSPDF) (FRA:50N) told investors that Meridian Farm Markets, the eight-store chain with three decades of history in the Greater Vancouver region, will offer customers a variety of the company's NATERA Plant Based Foods.
Its retail outlets in BC include Meridian Meats butcher shops in Port Coquitlam, Langley and White Rock and the Meridian Farm Markets in Maple Ridge and Mission.

"Many people living in the Greater Vancouver Area recognize the Meridian brand for their quality products and quality service, making them a perfect venue for NATERA Plant Based products," said Craig Goodwin, Naturally Splendid's CEO.

The group's NATERA Plant Based Foods products are a range of meat-alternatives for the continuing trend towards a more plant-based diet and include nuggets and burgers.
In Canada's Food Guide released to the public in January 2019, Health Canada recommended people eat vegetables and fruits, and also choose protein foods that "come from plants more often".
"It is encouraging to see national food guides, such as the Canadian Food Guide, evolve towards a more plant-based diet. Changing policies will most certainly bring more recognition to the multiple benefits of a plant-based diet," added Goodwin in Thursday's statement.
Naturally Splendid Enterprises operates a Safe Quality Food Level 2 certified food manufacturing facility just outside Vancouver and is the "go-to" manufacturer for healthy, functional foods and ingredients focusing on plant-based ingredients.
