- VanadiumCorp bags Indian patent for hydrometallurgical processes
About the company
VanadiumCorp Resource Inc. is an integrated green technology company with strategic vanadium mineral deposit assets. VanadiumCorp is focused on commercializing disruptive technologies to process mineral concentrates, produce and recycle vanadium electrolytes sustainably, and construct next-generation vanadium redox flow-battery “VRFB” systems. VRFBs are 100% green technology from mine to battery when hydrometallurgical processes produce the vanadium source commodity. Proven VRFB technologies improve renewable energy efficiencies by storing temporary energy surpluses and feeding them back into the electrical grid as required. VanadiumCorp wholly owns one of the largest and metallurgically favourable vanadium mineral deposits in the world, located in mining-friendly Quebec, Canada.
How it is doing
VanadiumCorp Resource Inc (TSX-V:VRB) announced that India’s patent office has issued a patent for its hydrometallurgical processes aimed at recovering vanadium and iron values from vanadiferous titanomagnetite and vanadiferous feedstocks.
The patent pertains to the Vanadiumcorp-Electrochem Process Technology (VEPT), developed by electrochemist Dr Francois Cardarelli, and now wholly owned by VanadiumCorp.
VEPT is now patented in the US, South Africa, Australia, and India, with patent applications pending solely in the EU and Canada. Additionally, VanadiumCorp has submitted a Continuation Patent in the US encompassing broader claims.
The Indian patent's term extends for 20 years from February 21, 2018.
VanadiumCorp Resource Inc (TSX-V:VRB) said it has begun pressure testing of its first vanadium electrolyte production facility in Quebec.
The company has completed the assembly for its inaugural vanadium electrolyte production facility, located in Val-des-Sources, Québec, at the Carrefour d’Innovation sur les Matériaux de la MRC des Sources (CIMMS).
VanadiumCorp Resource Inc (TSX-V:VRB) announced it was granted a patent by the Australian government for its methods of extracting vanadium and iron from certain types of ores and materials called vanadiferous titanomagnetite and other vanadium-rich sources.
The company said the patent is for the VanadiumCorp Electrochem Process Technology (VEPT) which was invented by electrochemist Dr. Francois Cardarelli and is now 100% owned by the company.
