CEO Dennis Hancock told shareholders that the partnership with Circadian Wellness is a “perfect bullseye” for its value proposition across the health and wellness space

Mountain Valley MD Holdings Inc (CSE:MVMD) (OTCQB:MVMDF) said Thursday it has struck an agreement with Circadian Wellness Corp to apply Quicksome technology to mushroom neutraceutical products.

The agreement includes ongoing product royalties and an initial payment of C$250,000 to Mountain Valley MD – the company’s first revenue.

Quicksome desiccation technology utilizes advanced liposomes and other stabilizing molecules to encapsulate and formulate active ingredients into highly efficient product formats that are consumed orally.

The $250,000, which is comprised of $200,000 cash and $50,000 in Circadian shares, will go towards formulation, product development and sample development work, according to a release from Mountain Valley MD.

The Toronto-based company told shareholders it was working closely with Circadian on proprietary formulations for mushroom-infused products that achieved a significant increase in overall molecule efficacy with Quicksome desiccated liposome technology applied across a variety of rapid dissolve oral products. Circadian is finalizing its product plans and go-to-market strategy for a broad line of naturally derived mushroom products that will first be distributed in North America, it added.

Mountain Valley MD CEO Dennis Hancock told shareholder that the partnership with Circadian Wellness is a “perfect bullseye” for its value proposition across the health and wellness space.

"This inroad into the rapidly growing mushroom industry timed with the broadening analyst coverage of the numerous scientific benefits of mushrooms on human health are expected to be significant for our business plan at Mountain Valley MD,” Hancock said in a statement.

Circadian’s chief medical officer Sanjeev Goel said that integrating Quicksome into its mushroom product formulations allowed the company to create a unique and effective product line.

"The initial consumer testing with our energy and sleep products has been very well received,” Goel told investors. “The precision of this delivery technology allows us to build the functional mushroom business out while simultaneously pursuing a leadership position in the rapidly emerging psychedelic space."
