American Eagle Gold Corp - American Eagle Gold expands its team to advance its NAK Copper-Gold Porphyry project in British Columbia
American Eagle Gold said it is “fully funded” for its 2022 exploration program and is waiting for its permit to kick off drilling

American Eagle Gold Corp (TSX-V:AE) revealed that it has contracted leading exploration consultants CJ Greig and Associates to continue advancing its Nakinilerak (NAK) Copper-Gold Porphyry project in the Babine copper district of British Columbia.

The Toronto, Ontario-based company said it is “fully funded” for its 2022 exploration program and is waiting for its permit to kick off drilling.

American Eagle Gold has locked in CJ Greig and Associates to advise and execute the company’s exploration program on its NAK property. Well-known award-winning geologist Charlie Greig is the president of CJ Greig and Associates.

He is a recipient of the 2022 Bill Dennis Award for the discovery of the Saddle North gold-rich copper porphyry deposit and the Saddle South vein gold-silver zone in the Golden Triangle region of British Columbia.

In addition, Greig also received the H.H. “Spud” Huestis Award for excellence in prospecting and mineral exploration in 2020. Greig was the vice president of exploration at GT Gold Corp (TSX-V:GTT) and led the exploration team that discovered the Saddle copper-gold and gold-silver deposits on the company’s Tatogga property.

American Eagle Gold noted that C.J Greig and Associates is “highly regarded” for its porphyry copper-gold deposit knowledge. The firm said it is “delighted” to add to its exploration team supported by CJ Greig and Associates in order to advance its NAK project.

Meanwhile, the company said that interpretation of historic geophysics data delineates an underlying multi-phase porphyry source for the previously-drill-defined near-surface low-grade copper/gold mineralization.

The proposed 2022 drill program will test the top of the larger intrusive stock starting at a depth of 300-400 meters (m), said the company. The interpreted porphyry is a potential source and host for a deeper high-grade orebody, which has never been drill-tested, added the firm.

American Eagle’s planned drill program consists of 8 to 10 diamond drill holes totaling 4,500m targeting the newly identified geophysical feature within a well-understood copper-gold porphyry province. NAK's known copper-gold porphyry mineralization is open at depth, and the compelling deep geophysical signature is analogous to Newcrest Mining’s Red Chris Mine and Newmont Corporation’s Tatogga project in northwest British Columbia.

American Eagle is also focused on exploring world-class gold deposits in North America and its flagship Golden Gate gold property, is an asset strategically located on the Cortez Trend, in Nevada.
