Ora Banda Mining Ltd - Ora Banda Mining picks five new targets at Greater Callion following “highly encouraging” rock chip results
The Greater Callion area is about 14 kilometres from Ora Banda's Davyhurst processing facilities.

Ora Banda Mining Ltd (ASX:OBM) is encouraged by positive results from fresh mapping and rock chip sampling in the Greater Callion area that delivered five new gold drill targets for investigation.

Greater Callion surrounds Ora Banda’s Callion deposit, which holds a resource of 200,000 ounces at an average grade of 6.4 g/t, and is 14 kilometres southwest of the company's 1.2 million tonnes per annum Davyhurst processing plant.

The company has been exploring the region since 2021, seeking to discover another Callion-style deposit. This latest rock chip sampling program has brought it a step closer to that goal, with best results including:

  • Welcome Stranger: 26.9 g/t and 18.6 g/t;
  • Lady Dorothy: 18.9 g/t;
  • Callion North: 7.7 g/t; and
  • Lady Kate: 6.7 g/t and 6.3 g/t.

“Area is a really attractive target”

“Callion is a well-known mine in the Eastern Goldfields due to the relatively high-grade tenor of the ore lodes. Discovering a similar style deposit in this area is a really attractive target for us.” Ora Banda Mining interim CEO Andrew Czerw said.

“The fact that it is located so close to our Davyhurst process plant and because the surrounding area has received such limited exploration due to its disjointed ownership history, it was a no brainer for us to zero in on the prospects surrounding the Callion mine.

“The greater Callion area will remain a high priority focus for life extension past the current reset plan.

“The recent mapping and high-grade rock chip results are most encouraging and give us five new targets to drill.

“Meanwhile, we will press on using an aircore rig to better delineate other areas with anomalous mineralisation which if successful, will lead us into future bedrock drilling.”

Ora Banda intends to conduct a reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign to test these new targets in early financial year 2023, with planning well underway.

The aircore rig has been engaged to the west of the main Callion deposit, testing other areas of prospective mineralisation.
