"There's something more in the stone, more than what the trade potentially sees," says Lamb.
He says that "when it was first uncovered, there was no soul alive who had seen a 1,000-carat stone.”
Alarmingly, Lamb says that any other mine on the planet would likely have crushed a diamond of its size due to the recovery process.
He says that he received interest from private buyers following the auction within seconds.
"It will be polished into one of the most spectacular diamonds ever seen," he says.
