Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd - Hillcrest Energy Technologies validates Zero Voltage Switching technology’s potential in 2024 customer demonstrations

Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd (CSE:HEAT, OTCQB:HLRTF) announced that it has concluded its 2024 customer demonstrations, showcasing its Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) traction inverter and Power Factor Correction (PFC) prototypes.

The company said that these tests, conducted at leading automotive manufacturers' and suppliers' facilities and Systematec GmbH in Germany, delivered notable performance gains, “solidifying the company’s position at the forefront of power electric innovation.”

The ZVS traction inverter prototype achieved system-level efficiency gains of up to 6% at various low-power operating points, as verified using the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).

With an industry-leading inverter efficiency of 99.7%, the prototype minimizes energy losses, reduces electromagnetic interference, lowers heat generation, and extends electric vehicle range. These capabilities enhance the overall performance of EV powertrains, optimizing driving range and reducing costs, the company highlighted.

Separately, Hillcrest’s PFC prototype demonstrated its ability to minimize reactive power, improving energy efficiency in onboard EV chargers.

"Our 2024 demonstrations have been a resounding success, showcasing the tangible benefits of our technology through extensive testing at automotive facilities as well as at Systematec," Hillcrest CEO Don Currie said in a statement.

"From increased efficiency to reduced system complexity and cost savings, the results validate the incredible potential of our ZVS traction inverter and PFC prototypes. These advancements not only enhance EV performance but could also contribute to a more sustainable energy future across multiple sectors."

The company plans to build on these results in 2025 with additional demonstrations and commercialization efforts.
