Fineqia International Inc (CSE:FNQ, OTC:FNQQF) has announced the issuance of the world’s first exchange-traded note (ETN) that deploys underlying digital assets in decentralized finance (DeFi).
DeFi refers to financial services such as borrowing, lending, and trading conducted on blockchain networks such as Cardano using smart contracts without relying on traditional financial intermediaries.
The Fineqia FTSE Cardano Enhanced Yield ETN (AV: YADA), launched by Fineqia’s European subsidiary Fineqia AG, offers investors a unique opportunity to access digital assets and DeFi yields.
It allows investors to gain exposure to the price appreciation of Cardano’s ADA token while earning yield through DeFi protocols, regardless of price fluctuations.
The YADA ETN begins trading today on the Vienna Stock Exchange, marking a significant milestone in Fineqia’s digital asset innovation.
Unlike traditional exchange-traded funds (ETFs), this ETN is collateralized with Cardano, an altcoin, and leverages its native ADA token on yield-bearing DeFi platforms.
This structure provides both liquidity and security, typical of stock exchange-listed financial instruments, but with the added benefit of DeFi exposure.
This announcement follows Fineqia's partnership with FTSE Russell, a division of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), which will serve as the index provider for the ETN.
"The trading today of our first ETN is an exciting moment for our company," Fineqia CEO Bundeep Singh Rangar said in a statement.
"Our YADA product is unique, innovative yet compliant."
