Fineqia International Inc (CSE:FNQ, OTC:FNQQF) announced that its analysis of global Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) with digital assets as underlying collateral revealed a 68.4% year-on-year increase in Assets Under Management (AUM), rising to US$135.7 billion from $80.5 billion at the end of February last year.

Despite this long-term growth, February saw a decline in AUM, dropping 18.6% from US$166.6 billion at the beginning of the month.

The broader cryptocurrency market also fell, with total market capitalization decreasing 20.7% to US$2.9 trillion from $3.66 trillion at January's close.

Bitcoin (BTC) ETPs followed a similar trend, with AUM falling 16.1% in February to US$116.3 billion, in line with BTC’s 17.8% price drop to $84,030. However, over the past 12 months, BTC ETP AUM surged 92.1%.

Ethereum (ETH) experienced a sharper February decline, with its price falling 32.7% to US$2,215 and ETH ETP AUM dropping 33.6% to $10.7 billion. Year-on-year, ETH ETP AUM declined 24.2%, though investor interest in digital asset ETPs remained strong.

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs) maintained a premium over the broader market despite volatility.

'Resilience speaks volumes'

“The resilience of digital asset ETPs in the face of selling pressure speaks volumes,” said Fineqia CEO Bundeep Singh Rangar.

"Premiums remain intact, underscoring investors' confidence in these structured products as the preferred way to tap into the crypto market."

Alternative coin ETPs and diversified crypto baskets also saw AUM declines in February but recorded strong year-on-year growth, with altcoin ETPs up 81.5% to US$5.13 billion.

Fineqia Research tracks 241 ETPs, compiling data from sources including 21Shares AG, Grayscale Investments, VanEck, Morningstar, and TrackInSight.
