Meren Energy announces leadership team changes

Meren Energy Inc (TSX:MER, OTC:AOIFF) has announced several changes to its executive leadership team as part of an organizational streamlining initiative.
The company said Craig Knight has stepped down from his role as chief operating officer to return to Australia for personal reasons. Knight will remain with Meren until October 31 to support the transition.
To consolidate responsibilities, Meren has merged the roles of chief commercial officer and chief operating officer into a new position: chief commercial and operating officer. Oliver Quinn, formerly chief commercial officer, has assumed the new role.
In his expanded role, Quinn will oversee operations in Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa, as well as technical and health, safety and environment functions, in addition to his existing responsibilities for business development, commercial activities, and planning and economics.
He will continue to be supported by Meren’s senior management team, including country managers and functional heads.
Quinn began his career in technical roles with Shell and brings more than 20 years of global experience across technical, commercial and executive leadership positions in the energy sector, the company highlighted.
Meren also announced the appointment of Tom Haffenden as chief human resources officer.
Haffenden, who has been named an officer of the company, has held international HR leadership roles in oil and gas services, defense and nuclear power.
His background includes advising multiple chief executives on HR strategy, organizational development, integration, employee relations and related areas.
Roger Tucker, Meren CEO, thanked Knight for his dedication and leadership during his time at the company and wished him well for his return to Australia.
