Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) has announced preliminary results from its 2025 exploration program at the Rocas uranium project in northern Saskatchewan, where fieldwork confirmed strong surface radioactivity and identified new uranium and rare earth element (REE) showings.

The Rocas project, which spans 4,002 hectares about 75 kilometers southwest of the Key Lake Mine, is currently under a three-year earn-in option agreement with Collective Metals.

The exploration program included detailed geological mapping, sampling, and scintillometer prospecting.

According to the company, multiple zones of strong surface radioactivity were verified across historical uranium showings, with several handheld scintillometer readings exceeding 10,000 counts per second (cps).

At one location, SMDI showing 5781, measurements peaked above 33,000 cps, while anomalous readings were also observed elsewhere on the property.

In total, 73 scintillometer readings above 300 cps were recorded, including 10 above 10,000 cps.

Fieldwork also identified previously undocumented radioactive anomalies in lithologies considered favorable for uranium and REE mineralization.

Sixteen rock and boulder samples have been submitted to the Saskatchewan Research Council Geoanalytical Laboratories for geochemical analysis.

Geological mapping confirmed the presence of deformed and hydrothermally altered basement rocks along more than 7.5 kilometers of strike length south of Key Lake, aligning with structural and electromagnetic trends.

The company said the results build on data from a 2024 ground gravity survey that highlighted several potential alteration halos and high-priority exploration targets.

"The confirmation of strong radioactivity at the Rocas project is an exciting step forward, directly validating historical uranium showings and highlighting the project's discovery potential," Standard Uranium vice president exploration Sean Hillacre said.

"Surface grab samples and technical information collected during this program not only strengthen our geological model but also add real value ahead of a maiden drill program planned for next year."

Standard Uranium plans to conduct the first-ever drill program at Rocas in 2026 to test targets along a magnetic low and electromagnetic conductive corridor that hosts several uranium showings and remains untested.

The company noted that historical exploration, including airborne EM surveys and lakebed geochemical sampling, has outlined favorable structural settings and elevated uranium, cobalt, vanadium, and zinc concentrations.

Historical grab samples have returned uranium values ranging from 587 parts per million to 0.498% U₃O₈ along approximately 900 meters of strike length.

Standard Uranium said it considers Rocas to be highly prospective for shallow, basement-hosted uranium mineralization given its geological setting near the southern margin of the Athabasca Basin.
