Earnings season continues next week with reports to come from entertainment giants AMC Entertainment, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Sony, electric vehicle-makers Rivian and Lucid Group, and cannabis companies Trulieve and Curaleaf, among others.   

Monday, November 6

Economic announcements: Federal Reserve senior loan survey

Tuesday, November 7

Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ:RIVN) is expected to report an about 155% year-over-year jump in revenue for the third quarter driven by increased electric vehicle deliveries. 

Wall Street analysts expect Rivian to report revenue of $1.36 billion for the quarter, up from $536 million in the year-ago quarter. Its loss per share is expected to improve from $1.57 to a loss per share of $1.36. Read the preview

Uber Technologies Inc (NYSE:UBER) is expected to follow up its first-ever quarterly operating profit achieved in the second quarter of 2023 with another strong performance in the third quarter when it reports its results before the opening bell in New York. 

The ride-share operator’s 3Q earnings are expected to swing into positive territory, with analysts projecting earnings per share of $0.13 compared to a loss per share of $0.61 in the year-ago quarter. Read the preview

eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) is likely to post higher revenues and steady profits when it reports its third quarter earnings after the market close.

The online commerce platform expects to report 3Q revenue in the range of $2.46 billion to $2.52 billion, representing forex-neutral growth between 2% and 4%. It also forecast earnings per share in the range of $0.96 and $1.01. Read the preview

Wednesday, November 8

When it reports its fiscal fourth quarter results, The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS)'s earnings per share are expected to surge 133% year over year to $0.70 per share on a 6% anticipated rise in revenue to $21.33 billion, according to Zacks Investment Research.  

During 3Q, Disney posted better-than-expected earnings but missed slightly on revenue. Read the preview 

The impact of the then-dual Hollywood writers and actors strike during the third quarter will be in focus when Warner Bros Discovery Inc (NASDAQ:WBD) hands down its latest quarterly earnings report after the closing bell. 

However, as the company’s profits are expected to take a hit, its free cash flow is expected to benefit as projects are put on hold due to the strikes. Read the preview

Sony Group Corp (NYSE:SONY) is expected to post a year-over-year drop in profits for the fiscal second quarter as the Hollywood strikes dragged on the financial performance of its Pictures unit.

When handing down its fiscal first quarter results in August, the Tokyo, Japan-based company – whose consumer electronics products include music systems, mobile phones, gaming consoles, and cameras - warned that the then dual writers and actors strikes would drag down its 2Q revenue.
