Investors were offered a front-row seat for a showcase of the best ASX small and mid-caps have to offer, with 20 innovative companies delivering strategic updates and highlighting their unique investment cases at this year’s ASX Small and Mid-Cap (SMIDcaps) Conference in Sydney.

The hybrid event, available to both in-person investors and virtual attendees, is a biannual event hosted in partnership with Bell Financial Group that offers a stage to listed companies with market capitalisations between A$50 million and A$800 million.

Technology, resource and health sectors featured

A strong cross-section of emerging sectors was present at the event, running the gamut from real estate to critical minerals and cancer imaging to high-spec lasers used for quantum computing.

Technology and software featured prominently, with companies such as Wrkr Ltd, Straker Ltd and COSOL Ltd outlining their growth strategies.

The medtech and health sciences sectors were well represented by ImpediMed Ltd, AFT Pharmaceuticals Ltd and EBR Systems Inc, while 4DMedical Ltd highlighted innovations in diagnostic imaging.

Resource-focused presentations included Alpha HPA Ltd and Southern Cross Gold Ltd, which discussed their roles in decarbonisation and critical minerals supply.

Real assets and infrastructure were also in focus, with insights from Qualitas Ltd, Saunders International Ltd and Cuscal Ltd.

Several presenters reported strong first-half results and expanding contract pipelines, including SRG Global Ltd, CleanSpace Holdings Ltd and Airtasker Ltd.

Others, such as Acusensus Ltd and Structural Monitoring Systems Plc, emphasised new government contracts and regulatory milestones.
