4DMedical locks in UC San Diego Health as 4th US academic user of CT:VQ

4DMedical Ltd (ASX:4DX) says UC San Diego Health has entered a commercial arrangement to begin clinical use of its CT:VQ functional lung imaging software, adding another major US academic medical centre to its early deployment network.
CT:VQ offers a contrast-free alternative to traditional nuclear medicine ventilation-perfusion (VQ) scans and can be incorporated into existing CT workflows.
UC San Diego Health has started using CT:VQ under a structured launch framework that includes introductory pricing through to March 31, 2026, before moving to full commercial terms.

4th academic deployment since FDA clearance
UC San Diego Health is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the US for pulmonology and lung surgery. The site’s adoption follows earlier academic deployments at Stanford University, the University of Miami and the Cleveland Clinic.
Uptake has accelerated since US regulator clearance in August 2025, with four academic medical centre deployments in a little over four months.
Clinical workflow
UC San Diego Health’s cardiothoracic imaging program is led by Dr Jonathan Chung, chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging and Professor of Radiology.
"Radiologists are experts of anatomic imaging, but as our understanding of lung disease expands, purely structural assessment limits our diagnostic reach. CT:VQ™ now enables functional ventilation and perfusion evaluation layered on top of traditional inspiratory and expiratory CT. This represents a significant leap forward and will allow radiologists to make diagnoses with more sensitivity and specificity," Chung said.
