Riversgold clears key infrastructure corridors as Northern Zone moves toward development proposal

Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL, OTC:RVSGF) has completed additional heritage and environmental clearance surveys at its Northern Zone Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, removing a key constraint to infrastructure planning ahead of a mine development submission targeted for early September.

The surveys covered new areas north and east of Northern Zone and were designed to enable unrestricted use of proposed access and infrastructure corridors.

Final survey reports are expected shortly and will be incorporated into the company’s Mine Development and Closure Proposal, or MDCP, for submission to Western Australia’s Department of Mines, Petroleum and Energy.

Infrastructure planning advances

The completed work included heritage and flora and fauna Work Area Clearance Surveys across priority corridors surrounding the project.

Riversgold's expanded clearance footprint would allow it to progress access and infrastructure planning with greater certainty.

“The completion of these additional Heritage and Flora/Fauna surveys is an important step in unlocking unfettered access to the Northern Zone Gold Project,” non-executive director Ed Mead said.

“With these corridors now cleared, we can progress infrastructure planning with confidence and remain firmly on track to submit our Mine Development and Closure Proposal to the Department of Mines Petroleum and Energy in early September.”

Northern Zone positioned near Kalgoorlie

Northern Zone is an intrusive-hosted gold project within Riversgold’s broader Kalgoorlie Gold Project, about 25 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Project maps included with the announcement show the expanded survey corridors extending north and east from the project area, with access toward existing sealed-road infrastructure.

Northern Zone is also positioned near several established Kalgoorlie-region gold operations, including the Golden Mile and Fimiston “Super Pit”.

Next steps

Riversgold expects to receive the final heritage and environmental survey reports shortly.

The company will incorporate the findings into the MDCP and remains on schedule to lodge the proposal with the state regulator in early September.
