Galliford Try Holdings PLC - Galliford Try raises full-year profit outlook after strong first half

Galliford Try Holdings PLC (LSE:GFRD, FRA:3WC), the construction and infrastructure group, has raised its full-year profit guidance after reporting a 20.5% increase in adjusted profit before tax to £24.7 million for the six months to 31 December 2025.

The company said revenue and adjusted profit before tax for the full year to June 2026 are now expected to come in above the top end of current market expectations, which had ranged from £1.912 billion to £1.922 billion for revenue and £48.9 million to £51.4 million for adjusted profit before tax.

Revenue for the half year rose 1.3% to £934.9 million, slightly ahead of expectations.

The divisional adjusted operating margin improved to 3.2% from 2.7% a year earlier, continuing progress towards the company's 4.0% target for 2030.

Both the Building and Infrastructure divisions recorded margin improvements, driven by what the company described as quality first-time project delivery and improved commercial terms across newer frameworks.

The group declared an interim dividend of 6.5 pence per share, up 18.2% on the prior year, payable on 10 April 2026.

Net cash at 31 December 2025 stood at £211.7 million, with average month-end cash over the rolling 12 months of £189.9 million.

The order book grew 5.1% to £4.1 billion, with 98% of projected full-year 2026 revenue already secured and 80% of 2027 revenue in place.

Chief executive Bill Hocking said the group's track record of operational delivery, risk management and established client relationships "provides consistency to our results," and that the strong order book gave the board confidence to raise full-year expectations.

The company said it continues to see opportunities in water, transportation, education, defence, custodial and health, supported by the government's planned investment in economic and social infrastructure.

On 27 February, Galliford Try acquired Nene Valley Fire & Acoustic Limited, a passive fire protection business, for approximately £10 million in a cash-funded deal expected to be margin accretive in its first year.
