About the company
Horizon Gold Limited (ASX:HRN) is an exploration company focused on its 100% owned Gum Creek Project in Western Australia covering approximately 644 square kilometres. The Gum Creek Gold Project represents an exciting gold exploration and potential development opportunity that currently contains a Mineral Resource Estimate of 38Mt @ 1.89g/t Au for 2.30 million ounces of gold including an indicated 26.7Mt @ 1.90g/t Au for 1.63Moz, representing 71% of the total resource ounces. The Company believes the Gum Creek Gold Project can be a robust, viable stand‐alone mining operation and is continuing work on the Gum Creek Feasibility Study.
How it is doing
Horizon Gold Ltd (ASX:HRN, OTC:HZGLF, FRA:HO0) earlier this week reported broad, high-grade gold intersections from drilling at the Kingfisher, Hawk and Swan prospects, reinforcing the potential for further resource growth at the Gum Creek Gold Project in Western Australia.
The strongest result came from Kingfisher, where reverse circulation drilling intersected 23 metres at 5.26 g/t gold from 188 metres, including 15 metres at 7.65 g/t.
Managing director Scott Williamson said the result demonstrated “the real high-grade nature” of the Kingfisher deposit and extended mineralisation north towards the Swan and Swift areas.
Williamson said the intersection was relatively shallow and sat within the proposed open-pit mining area. As a result, it could contribute to an expansion of the planned Kingfisher pit while Horizon Gold continued to test deeper mineralisation for underground potential.
Horizon Gold Ltd (ASX:HRN, OTC:HZGLF, FRA:HO0) strengthened the development case for its 100%-owned Gum Creek Gold Project during the June quarter, completing a definitive feasibility study (DFS) that outlined a potential 10-year operation producing 880,000 ounces of gold.
The study confirmed a pathway to first production in the second half of 2028, with average output targeted at 98,000 ounces per annum during the first five years and 88,000 ounces annually across the full mine life.
