Anglo Asian Mining Plc (LSE:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF, FRA:A4A) has appointed technology and corporate finance executive Cameron Pforr as a non-executive director as it pursues a major expansion of its Azerbaijan copper operations.
Pforr is chief executive and chief financial officer of NYSE-listed Mtron Industries, which manufactures high-performance components for the aerospace, defence and avionics sectors. He previously served as president and CFO of cybersecurity companies IronNet and Fidelis Cybersecurity.
Chairman Khosrow Zamani said Pforr’s international corporate finance experience would provide “significant additional expertise” as Anglo Asian executes its growth strategy.
The company plans to become a multi-asset, mid-tier copper and gold producer by 2030, targeting annual copper output of around 50,000 to 55,000 tonnes. Its expansion plan includes bringing the Xarxar, Garadag and Zafar mines into production between 2027 and 2030, alongside the recently opened Gilar and Demirli operations.
