Allergy Therapeutics PLC (AIM:AGY, OTC:AGYTF, FRA:HHU) has appointed former HSBC banker Helge Weiner-Trapness as executive chairman as the biotechnology group explores a potential dual primary listing in Hong Kong.

Weiner-Trapness, who joined the group as chief strategy officer and an executive director in January 2026, brings more than 30 years of investment banking experience in the US and Asia. He most recently served as vice chairman of global banking at HSBC.

He will work alongside chief executive Manuel Llobet on corporate strategy, including the proposed Hong Kong listing, which the company said could open new markets, support expansion in Asia and strengthen its research and development capabilities.

Weiner-Trapness succeeds Peter Jensen OBE, who is stepping down as non-executive chairman after more than 15 years with the company. Jensen will remain on the board during the transition but will not stand for re-election at the next annual general meeting.
