Lumos Diagnostics Holdings Ltd (ASX:LDX, OTC:LDXHF) has expanded the European commercial footprint of its FebriDx rapid diagnostic test after signing an exclusive distribution agreement with Romanian healthcare supplier Alpha Medical.
Under the agreement, Alpha Medical will manage sales, distribution and inventory for FebriDx throughout Romania, giving Lumos access to the distributor’s established customer base across primary care, urgent care and hospital settings.
Alpha Medical has also placed an initial stocking order, enabling FebriDx to be made immediately available to customers in the Romanian market.
Two weeks ago, the company secured the rollout of its FebriDx rapid diagnostic test across more than 30 US urgent care sites and advanced three additional major healthcare groups, representing more than 230 sites, into clinical and economic validation.
Established distributor supports Romanian launch
Founded in 2001, Alpha Medical supplies medical equipment and consumables to more than 500 public and private healthcare customers across Romania.
The company has a team of more than 25 sales specialists and represents a range of international healthcare brands, supported by an established logistics, servicing and product-support network.
Lumos expects these capabilities to support the rollout of FebriDx and help build awareness and adoption of the test among Romanian healthcare professionals.
“We are pleased to further expand our European distribution network with Alpha Medical in Romania,” Lumos Diagnostics managing director Doug Ward said.
“Building on our existing relationships across the region, this partnership will help broaden access to FebriDx and support our continued commercial growth across Europe.”
FebriDx supports rapid infection assessment
FebriDx is a rapid point-of-care diagnostic test designed to help healthcare professionals differentiate between bacterial infections and non-bacterial causes of illness.
The test is intended to provide information at the point of care, supporting clinical decision-making in settings where patients may present with symptoms associated with acute respiratory infections.
Its expansion into Romania forms part of Lumos’ broader strategy to increase access to FebriDx through established regional partners with existing relationships across healthcare systems.
European distribution network continues to grow
The Romanian agreement builds on Lumos’ expanding network of FebriDx distributors across Europe.
The company already has agreements with Henry Schein covering several markets, including the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands.
Lumos has also appointed Interlux to distribute FebriDx across the Baltic region, including Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia.
The addition of Alpha Medical extends the company’s reach into another European market and strengthens its regional commercial infrastructure.
Next steps
Alpha Medical will begin supplying FebriDx from its initial inventory while overseeing ongoing sales, distribution and stock management across Romania.
Lumos will continue working with its European distribution partners to broaden access to the test and support further commercial growth across the region.
